
Ladki Bahin Yojana is an extremely ambitious scheme launched by the Government of Maharashtra, which is being run to promote the all-around development of girls and their education. This scheme aims to secure the future of girls and empower them financially. Girls from poor and low-income group families get the direct benefit of this scheme. Financial assistance is provided in certain stages from birth to the age of 18. This scheme is also an important part of preventing child marriage by promoting girls’ education.

Eligibility Criteria for Ladki Bahin Yojana.

- The beneficiary girl must be a resident of Maharashtra state.
- Married, widowed, divorced, deserted and destitute women of the state and only one unmarried woman in the family.
- Minimum age 21 years and maximum age 65 years.
- The beneficiary must have her bank account linked with Aadhaar.
- The annual income of the beneficiary family should not exceed Rs 2.50 lakh.
- The birth of the beneficiary must be recorded in government records.
Ineligibility Criteria for Ladki Bahin Yojana.
Ineligibility criteria for this yojana.
- Whose family’s combined annual income is more than Rs 2.50 lakh is ineligible for this yojana.
- A family member who is an income taxpayer is ineligible for this yojana.
- Whose family member is working as a regular/permanent employee in any government department/undertaking/board/local body of the Government of India or the State Government, or is receiving pension after retirement? However, employees working through external agencies, voluntary workers and contract employees whose income is up to Rs 2.50 lakh will be eligible.
- The said beneficiary woman is receiving a monthly benefit of Rs 1500 or more under any financial scheme implemented by other departments of the government.
- Whose family member is a current or former MP/MLA is ineligible for this yojana.
- Whose family member is Chairman/Vice Chairman/Director/Member of any Board/Corporation/Undertaking of the Government of India or State Government?
- Whose family member has a four-wheeler (except tractor) registered in the name of any four-wheeler vehicle?
Required Documents for Ladki Bahin Yojana.
The following documents will be required while applying:
- The name mentioned in the Aadhaar card application must be as per the Aadhaar card.
- Residence Certificate
- If the certificate is not available, submit any one of the following (Ration Card of 15 years back/Voter ID Card of 15 years back/Birth Certificate/School Completion Certificate) of the woman.
- If the woman was born in a foreign state, then any one of the following:
- (Husband’s Ration Card issued before 15 years of age / Voter ID Card issued before 15 years of age / Birth Certificate / School Leaving Certificate / Residence Certificate).
- Annual Income Certificate – Should be less than Rs 2.50 lakh.
- If you have a yellow or orange ration card, an income certificate is not required.
- If you have a white ration card or no ration card, a certificate of annual income up to Rs 2.50 lakh is required.
- In the case of newly married women
- If their name is not mentioned in the ration card, then the ration card of the husband of such a newly married woman who has a marriage certificate will be accepted as income proof.
- Bank account details: (Account must be linked with Aadhaar)
- A guarantee letter and a photo of the beneficiary woman.
Application Process for Ladki Bahin Yojana.
There are two options available to apply for Laxmi Behan Yojana – online and offline. Both methods have been made available for the convenience of the citizens, so that people from urban and rural areas can apply easily.
Online Process
For women who are able to apply online, please follow the steps.

- Then click on create account.
- Fill the form and click on signup.
- Click on the “New Application” option.
- Verify your mobile number through OTP.
- Fill in the details: Beneficiary name, parent details, income, residence, education, etc. All the details must be filled in.
- Upload documents:
- Upload the scanned copy of the documents in PDF or JPG format.
- Apply and save the application number – required for future use.
- You can check the status of the application by logging in to the website.
Note: This application can be done online using a mobile, laptop or CSC centre (Maha e-Seva Kendra).
Offline Process
- For women who are unable to apply online, the facility to fill out online/offline applications will be available with Anganwadi Worker/Supervisor/Pradhan Karyakarta/Setu Suvidha Kendra/Gram Karyakarta/Community Resource Person (CRP)/ASHA Worker/Ward Officer/CMM (City Mission Manager)/Municipal Balwadi Worker/Help Desk Pramukh/Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendra. No fee will be charged for this application.
- Applicant’s name, date of birth, and address should be filled correctly as per the Aadhar card. Bank details and mobile number should also be filled correctly.
